| I bought this car in 1989, since then the car has been restored. The entire drive train has been rebuilt. The 350 engine was built with 10:1 forged pistons, stainless steel valves, performance cam, Edelbrock Manifold, Holley carburetor, Headers into factory side exhaust, electric fuel pump and nitrous oxide (although rarely used). The TH400 transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit and a high-speed torque converter was installed. The rear end was rebuilt and has a 4:11 gear ratio. The brake calipers were rebuilt with stainless steel sleeves and replaced along with the master cylinder/brake booster. All steering/suspension components such as springs, shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints, and bushings were replaced. The interior is in good shape, the carpet and miscellaneous trim have been replaced; although the driver’s seat is torn and covered with aftermarket seat covers. The body, paint, and “T”tops are in excellent condition. Most exterior chrome has been either replaced or re-chromed. However, the chrome plating on the factory side exhaust has since started to pit and a trim ring on one a wheel is damaged. Other options include factory alarm, A/C (compressor not installed) car cover, and many original and add ional parts.
Although the body and drive train have been modified and the numbers do not match, this car is in excellent condition. This car has been built for performance, but it is a very drivable street car, and has never been beat on. The engine was setup for drivability and to handle the nitrous oxide, when performance was needed. The nitrous was rarely used; just knowing it was there was enough.
