Click Here For Free CARFAX Record Check:   Comments ABOUT THE CAR LOOKING FOR A NO-HIT FOUR SPEED 1980 CORVETTE THAT JUST HAPPENED TO LEAVE THE FACTORY AS AN ORIGINAL BLACK ON RED CORVETTE? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THIS BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR CORVETTES IN EXISTENCE. EXTERIOR The paint is a few years old and has a few knicks here and there that have been touched up. The frame is very solid and the keyholes forward of the rear wheels are crisp and defined. The body is straight and the former owner told me that when he had the car stripped he saw no evidence of body repair anywhere. The tires are newer and sit on the car’s original slotted aluminum wheels. The front air dam is in place and has not been painted over. The headlights are functional and while I hear the wipers click on I wasn’t able to get them to move. The weather strip is in fair to above average condition save the driver’s door which will need to be replaced. The spare tire carrier is in place with spare and looks good. It is rare to find a four speed car with a body this nice. INTERIOR The interior appears to be entirely original and in nice shape for its age. The carpet is showing no holes and the seat, the door panels and the dash are showing only minor wear. The original seat belts are in place and remain functional. All of the gauges work except for the clock and the stereo is an in-dash CD player that is Sirius compatible, (it blew a fuse or something and needs to get checked out.) One may notice the original positive lockout reverse shifter. The car is very comfortable with both tilt-telescopic steering column and power windows. The rear compartment doors are awesome and work as well as I have ever seen. The original jack is in place as well. She is a beautiful car to sit in and enjoy. MECHANICS The motor compartment is clean and this Corvette has had quite a bit of work. The Corvette retains her original size 350 C.I. motor (nom) that appears to have been rebuilt in the not too distant past. The four speed transmission goes through all of the gears nicely and she is a blast to drive. Both the front and rear bushings have been redone and the same goes for the ball joints and the shocks. The brakes have been redone with stainless steel sleeved calipers. The car comes with lots of extra parts including all of the original emissions equipment complete from air rails to air pump. The Air Conditioning compressor is off of the car and is included. The A/C system looks to be complete to us otherwise. The car also comes with an extra power steering system, they former owner was going to rebuild it and have it waiting for the car in case the power steering needs to be rebuilt. The car also includes the new aftermarket piece “that GM forgot” to cover up the cavity where the wipers are. The emergency brake works too. The exhaust sounds like it has a small leak. A stack of receipts is included with the car. She runs, drives, and handles great for her age!
