BETTER THAN NEW-NEW-NEW, WHILE STILL REGISTERED AS A 1958 DUE TO THE ORIGINAL FRAME, VIN AND TITLE. EVERY NUT - BOLT & PIECE IS NEW OR RESTORED.---100% disassembled and then reassembled with full documentation. Starting with a body-off restoration, no corners were cut in the building of this pristine classic automobile. Combining today's technology with yesterday's style and classic appeal, this truly is the ultimate straight-axle Corvette. This is as close as you can get to a brand new '58 without use of a time machine! The paint on this car is near perfect -- we certainly were not able to find any flaws. Every piece of chrome has been re-chromed, and every piece of stainless polished. A brand new set of tires with massive whitewalls has been installed, and the original hubcaps have been polished and look great. All rubber and weatherstripping on the car is brand new. Convertible top is of course brand new as well. This car gets its power via the C5's reliable and lightweight all-aluminum engine, mated to a beefy Tremec 5 speed and backed up by a 9 inch Ford rear-end. But it doesn't stop there -- both the front and rear suspension have been replaced with Jim Meyer Racing components featuring a fully independent setup with coil-overs. Say "goodbye" to the non-assisted four wheel drum brakes; this car will stop on a dime thanks to its power-assisted four wheel disc setup. Power rack and pinion steering and a 3.73:1 ratio rear-end complete this awesome driving experience. The vintage look buckled together with modern features experience continues with this car's interior, which features power windows, and a Vintage Air air conditioning system. A Clarion stereo controls the Clarion 6 disc changer, and the tunes are provided by a 4 channel Alpine amplifier with a Focal speaker system. To keep with the classic looks, all these items have been installed in the trunk area; the original Wonderbar radio is still in its original location. New seat covers and a leather steering wheel cover give passengers the feeling of true luxury, and AutoMeter gauges have been added as well, but retain the location and style of the originals. New seatbelts, carpet, and door panels are also installed. Engine compartment features coated shorty headers, and extensive polished items including the radiator, a/c compressor, alternator, and serpentine setup and brackets. A brand new set of floor mats with the Corvette logo sit in the trunk. So what does all this add up to? A car that weighs 400 lbs less than a 2004 Corvette, but with the same amount of power. Estimated figures put this car at 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds, and a top speed of just under 200 mph. Bottom line? Hold on to your seats!
