One of less than 700 1971 LT1 Convertibles built, this car was assembled on January 5, 1971, and is one of the best driving, most correct, and most eye-catching C3's we've ever had to offer! We have sold this car several times before, and never had a disappointment. This was a very nice car when we last sold it, and since then the most recent owner has spent many thousands of dollars (receipts included) on a frame-on restoration to get it factory correct. This owner, who has had nine other C3s, believes this car to have original miles (50,226), although we have no records to prove this. Paint on this car is a very high quality but older job, showing the beginnings of typical minor stress cracks in a few areas but otherwise a brilliant shine and very few flaws. This is show quality paint that has simply been on the car for a while. Convertible top is newer, showing no stains, rips, or tears, and an excellent window. Chrome bumpers are newer reproductions, and are in very good condition. Taillights are also excellent with no cracks or other issues, and all weatherstripping is new and in excellent condition. Rally wheels are in excellent condition, with excellent condition trim rings and center caps, and Goodyear Eagle GT II raised white letter tires show 9/32nds tread remaining. Front windshield is a replacement, although both the driver and passenger glass show correct date codes, as do the rearview and side mirrors. Stainless trim was removed and polished when the windshield was replaced two owners ago. Chrome exterior door handles appear to be original, showing some patina but strong return springs. The interior of this 1971 Corvette LT1 Convertible is just as nice as the outside, with new seat covers and foam, and excellent condition door panels, center console, dash pad, steering wheel, storage bins, gauges, and carpet. The clock, fiber optics system, and FM band on the radio are all in working condition as well. In addition, the correct GM seatbelts have been fully reconditioned, and are like new with excellent labels. The original LT1 engine in this car shows assembly date November 30, 1970. This engine wears its correct intake, alternator, heads, exhaust manifolds, carburetor, and distributor. Ignition shielding, air pump, and correct hoses are also in place. Some of the work performed by the most recent owner includes a new rear crossmember, reconditioning of the gas tank with a new fuel sending unit and correct overflow assembly, rear wiring harness, dash harness, reconditioning of the spare tire carrier, and the replacement of all incorrect bolts with correct head markings. The previously non-correct rear differential has also been replaced with a 3.36:1 ratio date coded unit, and the non-correct M20 transmission was replaced with a date coded unit (blank VIN) and correct heavy-duty tailshaft. Both the engine compartment and frame have been heavily detailed and are super clean. Car will come with owner's manual, assembly manual, and two binders filled with history tidbits, photos, records, and receipts. This is certainly one of the nicest LT1 convertibles around -- if you want the best, this is the one for you!
